For teenagers Camm and Cal, protecting their small Mojave Desert mining town from terrifying extra-dimensional predators is just a part of their average day. But when Cal is stranded beyond a dimensional portal, Camm will have to put everything on the line and make a few unlikely allies to save her friend.
In a small mining town, deep in the Mojave Desert, a battle continues against unearthly predators taking prey across dimensional boundaries. Two teens, Camm and Cal, are caught between the forces of two worlds. Hoping to protect Camm, Cal cuts a deal with the National Security Agency to guide a special-ops team through the Searles Mansion portal into the parallel world of the deadly Mojave Green.
Camm’s secret ally, FBI Agent Linda Allen, is recruited as Cal’s bodyguard, but the gateway is accidently damaged, stranding his team in the other dimension. Camm is left to face her worst nightmare, an indestructible creature filled with a growing hunger to eat her alive. Carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, Camm sets out to solve vague mysteries and chart her own course to bring her friends back home, defeat the marauding monsters, and close the gateway to alternate worlds.
Winner of the 2nd Place Award in the 2016 Paranormal Romance Guild Reviewer's Choice Awards in the Horror YA & Adult Series category
“Once again the authors did a great job of keeping me at the edge of my seat… There are surprises, suspense, and the constant fight to free Trona of all the monsters, while fighting the government who wants things to remain as they are.” —5-Star Review from Linda Tonis of the Paranormal Romance Guild
“The horrors and creatures weave around a few flashbacks to the previous book, Pitch Green (2013), and there are a few sprinkled seeds preparing readers for future installments. The book ends on a cliffhanger, which is maddening but also to be expected, given the series' ambitions. Creative bits of humor and stylization set it apart from other cookie-cutter series entries making this one to watch and be hopeful for. Scary, fun and cool.” —Kirkus Reviews on Mojave Green
“The Brothers Washburn excel in drama and build a scene with masterful skill.” —Deseret News on Mojave Green
“It's not a lie that the Grimm Brothers now have competition; this series is already proving to be a recipe of thrills, chills and suspense that YA fans will absolutely love!" —Feathered Quill Book Reviews on Pitch Green

“[The Brothers Washburn] know their way around horror stories and suspense fiction . . . One of the many aspects that makes this debut novel a success is the new sophistication that the Washburn Brothers bring to their writing. Yes, the audience is meant to be Young Adults, but it is so well conceived and the prose is so excellent that any adult would find this story a rewarding read . . . Books like this will spur young readers to become enchanted with the whole realm of literature. Parents and teachers alert! —Grady Harp, Top 50 Amazon Reviewer on Pitch Green
“The Brothers Washburn quickly draw the reader into their horrific realm . . . A grotesque clock in the mansion's interior cranks up the tension so high when it begins to strike midnight that I almost had to stop reading . . . Pitch Green is a zestful new entry in the Stephen King, blood-and-squishy-eyeballs school of horror." —Elaine Lovitt, Top 100 Amazon Reviewer on Pitch Green
“Pitch Green is a very fast paced YA horror story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, you will not want to put it down." —Jody Joy, Jody's Book Reviews on Pitch Green
“I LOVED this book. There are several scenes [...] that left me cringing in horror... I pushed through them because I needed to know what happened & how it ended. Pitch Green is full of not only horror but a mystery aspect that leaves you glued to the pages. The characters are amazing . . . I honestly can't think of one thing that could've been done differently." —Kayla Shirley, Kayla's Place on Pitch Green
“If you love a scary story, Pitch Green is sure to satisfy. The stench of sulfur, the cold desert air, the Halloween night, and the thing watching from the bushes was the perfect setting for horror to happen . . . I would recommend Pitch Green to any fan of YA horror." —Alice Andersen, editor, Bella Online on Pitch Green
“Although this is basically geared towards young adults, I admit I got the heebie jeebies and goosebumps reading it . . ." —Jennifer Jordan, Gimme The Scoop Reviews on Pitch Green
