North Star Editions Acquires Jolly Fish Press
October 28, 2016—North Star Editions, Inc. (NSE) has acquired the assets of Jolly Fish Press, a Utah-based publisher of young adult, middle-grade fiction, and adult fiction. Under the purchase agreement, the acquisition includes the Jolly Fish Press imprint name and all copyrights to backlist and forthcoming titles. NSE also assumes all partnership agreements.“It’s with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to five wonderful years at the helm of JFP, but I’m grateful that the books—and the mission we set out to achieve—will live on under the North Star Editions brand,” said Christopher Loke, Publisher of JFP.

Jolly Fish Press acquires sci-fi trilogy The Blue Dominion by NYT bestselling author Sam York in a three-book deal. The trilogy was sold to TJ da Roza (JFP) by Lane Heymont of The Seymour Agency. The first installment of the trilogy, The Viridian Convict, is scheduled for release in spring of 2017

Jolly Fish Press has successfully acquired Kate Watson’s Seeking Mansfield, a contemporary YA novel based on Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park. Seeking Mansfield is scheduled for a Spring 2017 release. The deal was sold to acquisition editor McKelle George by Bree Ogden of Red Sofa Literary Agency.

Jolly Fish Press has acquired the World English publication and media rights to Mia Siegert’s Jerkbait, a YA thriller that explores the relationship between two brothers. Jerkbait is scheduled to be released Spring of 2016. The deal was headed by McKelle George at JFP and Travis Pennington at The Knight Agency.
JFP Acquires First YA Epic Fantasy Series for 2016
Jolly Fish Press has signed a three-book deal with debut author Dan Allen, acquiring world English rights to the complete Forgotten Heirs Trilogy; the first installment in the trilogy, Fall of the Dragon Prince, is set to be released Spring 2016. Fall of the Dragon Prince marks JFP’s first epic fantasy title geared toward YA readers for 2016.

Jolly Fish Press (JFP) has acquired the Monster or Die middle-grade series in a two-book deal from Cynthia Reeg, an award-winning author. From the Grave, the series’ first installment is set to release in Fall 2016. The deal was headed by acquisition editor TJ da Roza, who had also previously acquired the award-winning novel, Consider (Spring 2016), from Kristy Acevedo.

Kristy Acevedo's The Holo Series has been catching fire since we first acquired it. Now, it has gained the attention of Blackstone Audio, one of the nation's biggest independent audiobook publishers; The Holo Series will be published simultaneously in audiobook format by Blackstone Audio upon the books' release.
The first book of the series, Consider, will be release Spring of 2016 followed by its final installment the following Fall.
